(Or How Apink is proving to be one of the smartest girlgroups in present kpop scene)
Since it’s sound and image renovation on the middle of last year, Apink is proving to be one of the smartest girgroups in k-pop scenario. The group recognized for it’s pure aegyo style made a slight change on it’s vocal interpretation and dance moves to show a different concept that was almost forgot on female k-pop acts: the chic.
%% comes to continue the inovations of last year’s single and album and, in this subject, do not disappoint its listener: we have an atmospheric synthwave rhythm that increases the tempo speed we saw on I’m So Sick, but mantain its melancholy, even with the instrumental matching perfectly with a more aegyo single.
The mv has much more budget than the usual for Apink, showing a sinister construction of an artificial live (like Frankenstein), which contrasts to the sweet pink color pallette (by the way, this was one of the most pink videos of Apink to date). And the lyrics subject treats the theme of love in a much more mature and empowering way.
Even though I didn’t listen to the album yet, by its tracklist preview, %% mantains most of the rights and wrongs of last year’s I’m So Sick: a good concept, beautiful photos and mv, but a single that isn’t that strong alone, functioning more on the context of the album.
This was Flash Review, the first post category fully in english from Hipster Aquarius!!! Did you like it??
The idea here is to write fast reviews (like the superhero Flash) to match the time of the releases. For the Portuguese readers, do not worry!!! A Portuguese analysis of the best (or worse) releases will take place in Sonorous Horoscope (“Horóscopo Sonoro” in portuguese).
