(Or Witness the coming of a new dark era for CLC)
CLC is a girlgroup that brings something different in each comeback. We alredy had some of the most sugary aegyo and agressive girlcrush coming from the group and, even so, the girls aren’t close to having some hit on their career (actualy, is kind of amazing that Cube still gives them comeback semiannually even having a more succefull girlgroup, (g)-idle).
This semester, the teasers promised something on a more serious and agressive take, like last year’s Black Dress, suggesting somekind of girl power concept by the its lead single title, No. The single meets the expectations, bringing a classy but truculent song, inspired by the North American’s trap.
On its melody evolution, No starts to grow softly, with the sintetizers incresing their speed and number of elements as it gets closer to the chorus. The pre-chorus, in this context, is really something, creating a really pleasent vibe with its future bass references… But the chorus by itself is really disapointing, the trap break is out of the context on the melody’s evolution and decrease the song’s replay factor (much like many of the trap songs from the US).
To conclude, the mv is a basic but beautiful take on the girls agressive charisma and choreography, marked by its members interpretation (much like the Black Dress’s mv), with a special spotlight to the amazing scene where they are carrying a white coffin o.o’
